Ernesto Colnago has reached the milestone of eighty-five years. From this immense joy and excitement comes a bike, yet another masterpiece from a lifetime of inventing and creating bicycles. It’s called Ottanta5 ? a custom-made jewel built around the C60, a unique and inimitable bike frame, handmade one by one.
The next generation carbon frame masterpiece has been released to the world. A new standard of excellence has been set by Ernesto Colnago, leaving a benchmark standard for others to attempt to equal.
The Ottanta5 is constructed of the highest quality carbon fiber, with star-shaped tubes and lugs ? a proven design element tested over the years, beginning with the Master. The C60 has bigger tubes with thinner walls, and the same thing can be said about the lugs ? they are larger and stiffer, designed with the same shape present on the tubes. In summary, this gives the C60 incredible stiffness and torsional rigidity without adding weight. The lightweight alloy rear dropouts, completely redesigned for the C60, also reduce weight and provide greater lateral stiffness. The frame is available in 19 sizes ? an unparalleled amount.
Ottanta5 will be available in a limited edition of only 85 pieces.
2017年2月9日、エルネスト・コルナゴ氏は85歳のバースデーを迎えました。
1954年、イタリア・ミラノ近郊のカンビアーゴの7坪ほどの小さな工房でコルナゴ社を創業して以来、発明と開発に全人生を捧げてこれまで多くの傑作品を世に送り出してきました。
彼の長年の口癖は【コルナゴは自転車への情熱を示すためにモノづくりをする。レースに勝つために情熱を注ぎこむ。お金のためではない。】
このような頑固なまでの職人気質がコルナゴを作り上げました。
この精神は今も脈々とコルナゴ製品の中に受け継がれています。
そして、2017年
氏の生誕85年を祝し、イタリア語で85を意味する【Ottanta 5（オッタンタチンクエ)】を新たな逸品として発売!!
フレームはコルナゴ最上級モデルであるC60を使用しています。
このモデルのために特別に調合されたシルバーカラーをエアーブラシ塗装で彩色し、各部には特徴あるアラベスク調デザインを装飾しています。
シートチューブとヘッドチューブのCOLNAGOロゴは創立年である1954年当時に使用されていた伝統的なものです。
ロゴにある鷲は力、矢は高速、そして正確さを表しています。
チェーンステイにはMADE IN ITALY、シートポストはフレームと同色のシルバーカラーを纏っています。
ステム・サドルには【Ottanta 5】のロゴがペイントされます。
職人達が1本づつ情熱をこめた他に類を見ない宝石のような芸術品を製作しました。
パーツにはカンパニョーロ社のハイエンドモデルSUPER RECORD EPS、ホイールには同じくカンパニョーロ社のBORA ULTRA 50を採用。

HEAD TUBE
The most striking difference between the C59 and C60 is the new star shaped tube shapes and matching star shaped lugs.
BOTTOM BRACKET
The heart of the new C60 is the patented ThreadFit 82.5 bottom bracket. The dimensions are huge, especially when compared to that of the C59. The design ensures phenomonal lateral stiffness.
DOWN TUBE
Another major difference between the C59 and the C60 is the new oversized downtube. The patented ThreadFit 82.5 bottom bracket allows the use of much larger tubing.
SEAT TUBE
The oversize seat tube becomes strongly asymmetric as it reaches and enters the bottom bracket lug.
ONE PIECE DROPOUTS
Another new feature introduced with C60 are the forged CNC-machined one-piece dropouts. Colnago has worked hard to make the connection between the frame and the rear wheel on the C60 as direct as possible.
